LWI to West Elk Mine:

S on Hwy 6
E on I-70

via Grand Junction:
In Grand Junction - Exit 26 (South Hwy 50) 
Follow signs through Grand Junction (staying on Hwy 50)
Continue on to Delta,CO  appr 30 miles

via Clifton:

On I-70 go through Grand Junction
Exit at Clifton (appr 10 miles) passed the 26 exit
Turn Left over the bridge at the second light
Follow to end of road to Hwy 50
Turn South (Left)
Continue onto Delta,CO appr 30 miles

In Delta:
Go over river and train tracks
Left at first light Hwy 92 to Hotchkiss and Paonia

In Hotchkiss ( appr 26 miles) go through town
Follow road to the left Hwy 133 to Paonia

Pass Paonia, thru Somerset
appr 3 miles past Somerset is West Elk mine
Follow sign for truck entrance
up mine road staying to the right
past the lower gob yard on right
Warehouse on right.

upper laydown yardd:
go past warehouse / shop
take next left   (big trucks announce yourself)
